Public consultation is to get under way over the inspired idea to cease 24-hour urgent care service at St Cross hospital in Rugby.
Managers at the hospital claim there is little use of its services between 10pm and 8am.
The public are being 'consulted' as to whether they want a 24-hour emergency nurse led service or a nurse led service [with doctor back up] between the disputed hours. The doctor would be based at University Hospital in Coventry.
If that's not enough, they want the public to help choose a name for the 'A&E department'.
