So, the weather has made a turn for the better [see Southam News Weather].

You may be thinking of clearing up the house, garage or shed: STOP!

In the course of that clearing up you may find items that are rubbish. You may feel the need to get rid of this 'rubbish'. That is where you may have a problem.

A long & confusing list of restrictions exist regarding the use of vehicles at the Stockton Tip [aka Recycling Centre]. Ergo, the vehicle you are intending using is probably banned.

For time in memorial the custom has been to rent a van, fill it with your rubbish and take it to the tip [aka Recycling Centre]. This cherished English custom has now been outlawed because there is a van ban.

The ban on vans means that businesses such as Townsend Vehicle Hire who have the foresight and common sense to advertise on Southam News [see left hand column] suffer because, although they have a wide variety of vans for all occasions, they lose customers who would be renting a van to visit the Recycling Centre [aka tip].

The first ever tips [aka Recycling Centres] were probably ran by the Romans. If you were clearing out your hovel and wanted to ditch your rubbish [aka Recycling] you could borrow or rent an Ox & cart and visit their facility. The modern equivalent, a van or trailer, is not allowed. This means you have to use a car.

By being forced to use a car, assuming your car meets the requirements of actually being a 'car', you have to try and get all your stuff in it. This inevitably leads to more than one journey which is hardly good for the environment.
